An exciting opportunity has recently arisen for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Senior Dentist to join the expanding team within the Hampshire and IOW NHS Healthcare Foundation Trust, Special Care Dental Services. This post is to support delivery of our community and specialist dental services.
You will be an experienced and dedicated Senior Dentist with the clinical, communication and managerial skills necessary to inspire confidence and generate commitment and support from the dental team. You will join a motivated, multi-professional team, dedicated to providing high quality dental care and improving the patient experience.
HIOWH NHS Foundation Trust, Special Care Dental Service provides comprehensive dental care for children and adults with special needs, and for other priority groups, across Hampshire.
We have vacancy for a Band C salaried clinician, you will provide clinical leadership within the field of General Anaesthesia across Special Care Dental clinics. You will lead the dental teams, providing specialist advice, treatment and guidance on dental care of adults and children with a range of complex medical co-morbidities, learning difficulties, patient management issues, and complex dental needs.
You will be registered with the GDC, and be on the Specialist list for Special Care Dentistry. You will hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. The posts will require the relevant disclosure check with the Criminal Records Bureau
Provision of dental care to those groups specified in the Service Description as patients of the Special Care Dental Service.Treatment and care will be within the competencies of a Band C dentist as defined in the National Terms and Conditions of Service.
Clinical Leadership within the field of General Anaesthesia across Hampshire Special Care Dental clinics.
Day to day leadership of the dental team.The post holder will form part of the Clinical Leads Group.
Deputising for the Locality Leads and/or Clinical Director as required.

Current full Registration as Dental Surgeon with General Dental Council, Specialist List entry
Foundation (Vocational) Training / equivalence and current Performers List number
BDS (or equivalent), post-graduate qualifications including Special Care Dentistry, completion of Band B competencies
Be able to complete enhanced CRB vetting procedures
Experience of organising, managing and running clinics, specific services and staff including governance of clinical care, and complex environments, performance concerns management and staff and service development
Articulate a vision and challenge for future development, leading through change and providing staff leadership and motivation
Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development and currency within GDC requirements.
