We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive GP Assistant to join our friendly and busy GP Practice.
General Practice Assistants form part of a multi-disciplinary team within primary care, and provide a support role, carrying out administrative tasks, combined with basic clinical duties, helping to free up GPs time and contribute to the smooth running of appointments and improving patients' experience.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills, and have the ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team, within a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential along with being an effective team player.

*A minimum of five GCSEs, ideally at grades A -- C, but equivalent level of work experience will be considered.
*NVQ/Apprenticeship level 2 Business & Administration (or relevant equivalent)
*GP Assistant Certificate
*ECDL/CLAIT qualification in IT (or equivalent) RSA II Typing (or equivalent)
*Experience of working in Primary care
*Good communication and team working skills.
*Previous experience of working as a member of a team.
*Confidence working with computers and e-mail. Previous experience of working with the public and of customer care policies.
*Experience of software packages such as Word and Excel, EMIS and Docman 10.
*Organised, good attention to detail
*Excellent customer care focus
*Ability to handle demands with professionalism, tact and diplomacy
*Work as part of a team to support the overall delivery of the team/department
*Ability to maintain confidentiality
*Ability to work with a methodical and careful approach
